Package Theft Solutions
Holiday
shopping is Full swing now, and if you are like me , You’re probably doing A
LOT of on-line ordering! Unfortunately,
thieves know this and are watching for easy prey.
Today, I’m
going to share my top 6 solutions to prevent package theft and how you can
protect yourself and your loved ones from these thugs!
Most of us
take advantage of the time saving convenience of ordering our holiday gifts on
line and love the fact they can be delivered right to our door step the very
next day!
But this
convenience can come with a higher price… Yes, there are thieves out there that
are watching and waiting for the opportunity to snatch your package! However, if you follow any of these 6 package
theft solutions that I’m going to talk about today, you can drastically reduce
this from happening:
Tip #1
Schedule
deliveries where you ARE and not where you ARE NOT
Most major
delivery companies allow you to schedule specific times for your delivery. If
so, and you are at work during normal delivery times, have your package
delivery where you ARE.. For example.. have your package delivered at your
office during working hours.
On the flip
side of that..Tell friends and family to do the same if they are sending YOU a
package.
Tip # 2
Set Up
alternative pick up options with your local delivery company:
If it is not
convenience or feasible to have packages delivered to where you physically are
during delivery times, Have a designated Access Point.
For example,
UPS, Fed-Ex and others have local stores on practically every corner in most
neighborhoods. I bet you pass one on your way home every day!.. Go inside to
make arrangements to have your packages delivered there. If you’d like to learn more about how this
works, I put the link below to sign up for this network.
Tip #3
Require a
signature for packages you send to family and friends:
You may be
mailing packages from your local post office or delivery service. Require a
signature for your recipient upon delivery. Yes, there is a small fee to do
this, but may be well worth it to be assured your package was delivered to
hands of your intended recipient.
Tip #4
Home
security or Door Monitoring Camera devices
We’ve all
seen the reports on the news and social media where these ‘porch thieves’ have
been caught in the act by security cameras and door bell camera monitoring
systems. But please don’t rely of these systems alone.. These thugs hit in
broad daylight and once your package is snatched, it’s gone!, Along with your
inconvenience and money replacing your snatched package. All that being
said, I’m a big fan of these systems!,
and can be a Huge deterrent for these thugs.. Especially if you can catch them
in the act! So if you are in a position to install one of these devices..please
do it!
Tip # 5
Keep an eye
out for suspicious Cars and People in your neighborhood
You might be
thinking,’I live in a gated community, and pretty sure this won’t happen
here’…There is a certain level of truth to that, and I encourage you to check
out my video that talks in detail about the pro’s and con’s of gated
communities.
However, during the holidays, neighboring
residents may have a higher influx of traffic in and out of the community from
various visitors other than friends and family. Like maybe temporary labor
service people..
Now I’m not saying your neighbors would intentionally
allow a criminal into the neighborhood, but what I want to stress to you, is to Always be vigilant and be aware if something
just does not look right!
And finally
Tip #6
Talk to your
friends and family AHEAD of time
One of the
best parts of giving a gift is the element of surprise for your loved one. The sentiment of anticipating a surprise is a
gift in itself!
I know this
one sounds like a no-brainer…
But please,
let them know they will have a special delivery coming from you. Have a clear
plan how, when and where they will
receive your package.
So, If they
tell you it is perfectly safe to have the package delivered on their doorstep,
please share what we’ve learned in this video today.
In the end,
it’s your time, money and sentiment that may be lost if the package is stolen.
Please take the necessary steps to keep your packages out of the hands of
thieves, and into the hearts of Your intended recipient during this joyous season!
If you can
do at least one of these 6 tips when either sending or receiving packages
during this wonderful time of year, I promise… you will dramatically reduce the
chance of having to go through the disheartening experience of being a victim
of package theft.
If you
agree, Then Please SHARE THIS VIDEO with your loved ones.
Until then,
I wish you all a safe and blissful season.
